Cooling water and Fire protection system
Electricity de France (EDF) have built two steam power stations in the Gulf of Suez and Port Said in Egypt. Each plant is composed of two units of 341 MW.
For the cooling water systems and the fire protection lines Fiberdur delivered more than 7500 m of Vinylester GRP pipes and more than 2500 fittings.
The choice of GRP was made because of their long term corrosion resistance and the easy installation. The underground, the outside aboveground and the installation in the power stations was made by locally trained staff under Fiberdur’s field service and supervision.
Inspection and delivery of the pipe system was made in full accordance with the specification for EDF Nuclear Power Plants.
