WASTE GAS CONDUCTS “FAXE KALK” - BELGIUM
Because of their corrosion and weather resistance, GRP pipe systems can be laid anywhere. Whether outside or even underground, GRP does not require any expensive, time-consuming installations or measures and is distinguished by its durability and reliability, even under extreme conditions.
This pipeline, which runs along the banks of the Maas crossing the river bank again, illustrates the diverse assembly possibilities of GRP material:
1800 m laid along a pipe bridge, mounted on concrete props,
100 m laid underground,
100 m mounted beneath a much frequented bridge/viaduct using
steel girders,
60 m insulated and passed through an embankment and
160 m laid in a concrete channel
Normally, GRP pipe systems are not electrically conductive. A 60 m section of the piping shown, however, lies in an area where there is a danger of explosion; in order to guard against this danger, this section of the pipeline was coated on the outside with a conductive material. So, the material meets all requirements tested and shows that it may be optimally adapted to special circumstances.
